The Jaguar XK 150 was a sports car produced by Jaguar cars during 1950s. It was the first sports car from the company with high performance engine.
The Jaguar XK 150 was a redesigned version of XK 120 model and it was released as a replacement car for XK 140. Initially, the sports car was offered in fixed head coupe and drop head coupe models. The roadster model joined the lineup after nine months, since the introduction of XK 150.
In comparison to the XK 140, the Jaguar XK 150 was equipped with latest features. The bonnet had been widened and a single piece windscreen was used for the first time. The roadster model came with increased length, longer by 4 inches in comparison to the coupe versions.
Engine
The Jaguar XK 150 was powered by the same 3.4 liter engine, which was used in the XK 140, but with minor changes. It had the capacity to deliver power up to 210 hp at an angular speed of 5500 rpm. The new engine to the vehicle was available in 1960, a 3.8 liter model that produces 265 hp. With this engine, the sports car achieved the speed of 60 miles per hour in just 7 seconds.
