Jaguar XK 8
The Jaguar XK8 is a grand tourer model manufactured by the British car producer, Jaguar. This model is also called as XKR and XK. It was introduced for the first time on 5th of March, 1996, at the Geneva Motor Show. This model was released as a replacement to the XJS version and is available in convertible and coupe models. The XK8 model is the first car produced by the Jaguar that includes 8 cylinders.
The Jaguar XK 8 was produced by the Ford Motor Company from 1996 to 2008 and at present these are produced by Tata motors. The variant is designed based in the FR layout.
As far as the production of the vehicle is concerned, the body parts of the tourer model are made in various countries. 60 percent of the car is produced in United Kingdom, tires are made in Italy, air conditioning is made in Japan, lightings from French, transmission from Germany and ABS from United States.
Engine
The power to the vehicle comes from AJ-V8 engine and it is available in two different versions with a supercharged 290 hp and 390 hp engine. The top of the vehicle can be closed or opened within a few seconds and can also be managed by a single switch.
The maximum speed of the Jaguar XK 8 is 155 miles per hour, which is considered as the big drawback in the tourer car. The car is featured with an 18 inch alloy wheels and it also offers 20 and 19 inch wheels as optional.
